Creating Your Account

Step-by-step guide to creating and securing your SEND account.

← DocsGetting Started4 min readUpdated January 12, 2025

Registration

Creating a SEND account takes less than a minute. Visit the registration page and fill in the required information.

There is no password reset and no self-service account recovery. The change-password form requires your current password, so if you lose it there is no route back into the account -- and because SEND holds your wallet keys, that means losing the ability to move those funds. Store your password somewhere you will not lose it, and enrol in two-factor authentication so a leaked password alone is not enough.
  1. Choose a unique username: 3-32 characters, starting with a letter, then letters, numbers, underscores and dots only. Hyphens are rejected
  2. Create a strong password (minimum 8 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit, and one special character), and confirm it
  3. Enter a referral code -- registration is invite-only, and the form will not submit without one
  4. Creating the account is your agreement to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy; there is no separate checkbox

Securing Your Account

After registration, we strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security.

Save your 2FA recovery codes in a secure location. If you lose access to your authenticator app, these codes are the only way to regain access to your account.

Profile Settings

Once logged in you can customize your profile and notification preferences from the Settings page.

  • Set a display name and avatar
  • Configure email notification preferences
  • Choose your preferred currency for displaying balances
  • Set your timezone for accurate timestamps
